Windows are a valuable source of light as well as providing a welcome view to the outside world. Sometimes, however, privacy is required, and in offering a range of specialist privacy window films, RWT can help you obscure vision in a stylish and effective way.
There are two primary types of privacy that an application of window film can deliver:
· Full-time two-way privacy.
· Daytime one-way privacy.
· Observation rooms.
Daytime one-way privacy can be achieved with an application of reflective window film. The film appears reflective on the brighter side of the glass, which is usually the external side during daylight hours, thus preventing vision through the glass. The view from the inside out is maintained. As the film works on the light balance, a minimum ratio of light to dark of 3:1 is necessary for the film to work in this fashion, and a ratio of 7:1 for optimum performance.
Reflective privacy film is available in different grades, in different colours and in both finishes suitable for both internal and external applications. As well as providing privacy, reflective film can provide a range of other benefits, including UV protection, the cutting down of glare and in some cases protection against solar gain.

Contra Vision one-way privacy film delivers privacy through the use of perforated film. Mostly used on shop and gym glass frontage and vehicle signage. Once in place, the film has a white appearance from the outside, blocking the view from the inside out. From the inside, the film is black, with the perforated holes serving to provide vision out. Two-way privacy or full privacy is offered by films such as Frosted film, our range of Reeded or patterned window films, or solid colour vinyl’s.
Frosted films will give your glazing the appearance of acid-etched glass, preventing vision both ways whilst still allowing high levels of light to pass through the glass.( Similar to bathroom frosted glass) Available in a range of finishes, frosted film provides an immediate and attractive privacy solution.
Frosted window film can also be computer-cut to take the form of patterns and logos, and can also be printed upon to feature customer artwork or designs, creating a truly bespoke privacy film.

Solid vinyls are available in a range of colours and will block both vision and a large proportion of the light. Vinyl is a good choice for blocking unsightly views or as a privacy film whilst building or renovation works take place. Vinyl is not suitable for application to every type of glass.
